Below is the main slide summing up the 2030 scenario. This prese ntation embodies 20 years of TechCast’s work leading the field of strategi c forecasting. Bill summaries forecasts of 50 emerging technologies\, 30 s ocial trends and 25 wild cards to present a “macro forecast.” The result is a Most Likely Scenario for 2030 shown below. There are literally thousands of trends at play\, but this scenario captures what i s thought to represent the major challenges ahead.

\n\nThe purpose of this series is to focus on the emerging opportunities\, challenges\, ri sks and threats associated with rapid advancement and application of techn ological innovations\, such as AI\, digital communications\, breakthroughs in the basic sciences\, and global existential risks.
\nThe series is being conducted in support of HS4A\, the global campaign on Huma n Security for All launched by WAAS in collaboration with the UN Trust Fund for Human Security in January 2023. The UN concept of Human Security initially encompassed seven dimensions of security — Community\, Ecologic al\, Economic\, Food\, Health\, Personal\, and Political. More recently it has been expanded to include other dimensions with emphasis on Technologi cal Security.
\nThe first webinar will take place on May 17\, 2023 a t 4 pm CET/10 am ET. It will provide a general introduction to the concern s of the Academy’s founders on the impact of knowledge and technology and our recent work on both opportunities and challenges related to Technologi cal Security. This will include issues discussed at recent HS4A events suc h as the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show\, the Education for Human Security Conference\, and the EarthX Expo. It will also provide an opportunity for participan ts to identify other issues to be addressed in future webinars in this ser ies.
