Jobeda Ali is winner of the Social Business Leader Award at the Ogunte Women’s Social Leadership Awards 2010.

Dear friends,

I would like to share some wonderful news: on Tuesday I won the Award for Social Business Leader of the Year at the Ogunte Women’s Social Leadership Awards, held every year in London. A press release is attached for you below and a picture of me receiving my Award from Dr Rachel Armstrong! This is a great endorsement for my company, Fair Knowledge, and recognises the social impact of our work in promoting marginalised voices in mainstream thought leadership through films and conferences. We believe that including fringe voices at the highest levels of decision-making, strategy and action, are the only way to create positive and sustainable societies.

Please look out for two more Cineforums next year – firstly, science will be getting the Cineforum treatment so I’m on the lookout for inspiring scientists from across the world. Following on from the amazing success of the first Muslim Women’s Cineforum, we are currently looking for partners for our Muslim Women’s World Summit (focused on business and financial sectors). Our climate change work is ongoing through our acclaimed Ecotopia brand and we will be delivering an Ecotopian Collaboratory soon on planetary rights. We aim to engage young people as fully as possible in all our work.
